From a small Texas town, I came here a year and a half ago on a white knuckle 19 hour ride through deserted desert and twisting mountain roads. My welcome to L. A. was a 4am slash and burn through traffic on the 10 with cars everywhere. Being from wide open spaces, L. A. is different, but I like it (except for the taxes, heh).
By day I’m a mild mannered system’s admin, web developer. At night? writer for a local blog and ninja. Life is good, even when its bad, and when I see what I want; I go get it. I have pretty eclectic interests, some of which include auto racing, checking out clubs, learning foreign languages, politics, economics, hiking, travel of any kind, but it all brings me back to the true love, writing about it.
Since coming to L. A. I have braved the Devil’s Punchbowl with stalwart mates, relearned to drive stick, trained in the arts of ancient shadow warriors, walked up to total strangers in clubs to strike up a conversation, taken steps toward publishing my first novel, felt the zen that follows hanging ten all day, played the part of the pesky reporter, blogged the frightful for CreepyLA.com, for the guy on Break.com, driven out to the middle of nowhere to watch the stars fall from the sky and confided romantic feelings to a female friend regardless of the outcome.
I’m serious about the stuff that requires it, and not about the stuff that doesn’t. Making sure I catch the next episode of Californication… that some serious stuff now!
